Sun Safety Tips for Kids!
We all want to make summer happy & fun to remember even if it’s a little bit different this year! As parents, we want our children to enjoy their summer vacation and make the most out of long summer mornings and afternoons before they go back to school this year. It’s always exciting to plan out a trip packed with fun adventures for the entire family to get a little bit of heat and sunshine during summertime. 5 tips to keep your family safe this summer!
🌞 Keep hydrated
While you’re out in the summer sun, make sure your family drinks plenty of water even when not thirsty.
🌞 Avoid midday sun
Limit sun exposure during 10 am to 4 pm, this is the time when the sun is at its peak!
🌞 Apply sunscreen
Choose kid-friendly sunscreen with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 30 or higher and look for word “broad-spectrum”. This means the sunscreen will protect against both ultraviolet B (UVB) and ultraviolet A (UVA) rays—two rays that can harm your skin! Apply 30 minutes before going out to areas that don’t get covered by clothing. Don't forget your nose, ears, hands, feet, shoulders, and behind the neck. Remember that lips could burn too, so make sure you have lip balms with SPF in store for the family. Reapply every 2 to 3 hours, or after beach & pool play, or after sweating.
🌞 Seek some shade
Babies have thinner skin and tender skin. They can burn more easily so it’s best to keep them out of sunlight. Your little ones can have full of fun under the shade of tree with our Adora dolls & toys!
🌞 Slip on breathable clothing
Choose the right clothing for this season. Wear a hat or sunglasses to keep the sun off the face and put on sun-protective clothing which provides ultraviolet protection.
